Price matching on CPAP.com
Price matching on CPAP.com
Greetings,
I understand CPAP.com will price match competitors products. Does anyone know if that also applies to the Encore Viewer 1.0 software and smart card reader? I'm seriuosly thinking of getting both and was going to buy the card reader from two-factors.com (considerably cheaper), but if CPAP.com will price match I'll buy from them.
Just wondering if anyone has tried this.

They did price match the Encore Viewer software on my recent order.
In the comments field I requested a price match for the software. (I provided them with a link to the competitor's price) They adjusted the price on the final invoice.
I can't comment on the hardware. I did not request one. Is the two-factors the exact same product?

Don't think they will match the one from Two-Factors because it is sold as a Mako Brand. They will match any price if it is sold under the Respronics Brand name. Yes I know they are the same but it must be the same brand name.

I think Jerry’s on the right track, though I think the difference is less the name on the box than the terms of the sale.
I suspect that the card reader from Two-Factors would be considered a “gray market” item.
It is identical in every respect to the one sold by Respironics, comes from the same assembly line, etc, etc.
Since it doesn’t come thru the US importer, it doesn’t have the same warranty as the one sold by Respironics. How much is the warranty worth to you?
It is reasonable for Respironics to charge more when they include the warranty. How much more is another issue. I think they mark it up too much.
I’d bet that cpap.com has to pay more wholesale for the warranted item than the price from Two-Factors for the non-warranted item. It wouldn’t be fair to expect cpap.com to match their price.
For me, the warranty wasn’t worth the extra hundred or so. If this one dies, I’ll buy another from Two-Factors and still be money ahead. But I won’t fault cpap.com for not matching the price.

I agree about the warranty. I purchased my card reader from two-factors due to the cost. Many times on smaller items it is a hassle to deal with the warranty and on some items (you have to read the fine print) there are still service charges, postage, etc. making the warranty mute (I HAVE NOT READ the warranty on the card reader from Respironics and so they MAY have a great warranty without any additional cost).
I figure I can purchase 4 or 5 from two-factor for what one is costing from Respironics.

they have always matched my price when I found one on machines,
all you do is paste the URL in the "Comments" box when you place the order, those comments come back to you in the order confirmation email.
It is a good idea to Print the Order page to PDF for future reference. If you find a cheaper price on another website, print that page to PDF so you can email it to cpap.com,
IF by chance they failed to see your price "match" reply back within that email that they failed to apply the "match", they will then email you back with the credit applied to your credit card.
Oh if you find where a online vendor is offering a free mask with the machine, they will match that also or offer you an equal value item.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...
The card reader I got from cpap.com says Infineer on the top and Mako on the back. Doesn't say anything about Respironics antwhere on it. I didn't even Know that Respironics "branded" them.6PtStar wrote:Don't think they will match the one from Two-Factors because it is sold as a Mako Brand. I just do not mind if Cpap.com makes a reasonable profit. Just to keep the
lights and water on and machines when you want them at a reasonable
price. Not to mention this fourm.
The first Encore Pro Disk and Reader were price matched
from a USA dealer on the Internet But I did not ask to match
2-factors Price because this may be way below there cost
from respireonics.
The only difference I found was a rubber stamp on the outside
of box (Respireonics) and the disk with the mako drivers
was not in the box.
Merry Christmas to everyone.

All great questions and answers. And along this thread's line what about state sales tax. I live in the same state as their wharehouse, thus maybe subject to state sales tax. Whereas if I were to buy from another vendor I could save another 8.5 %. On big ticket items this can be substantual. Any experience in this area? I'll appreciate any responses.
Many thanks & Merry Christmas!
