After the briefest of introductions at the VA, Wendy decided to come live with me. Can anybody else relate to making a “Till Death Do We Part” commitment 30 minutes into a blind date? This was exactly one year ago. My wife understands how important this relationship is to me and my health, so she is happy to have Wendy with us at night. (I think she actually prefers Wendy to my snoring.)
It was slow going at first. I would reject Wendy and throw her mask on the floor. We got through this rough period and now it is Wendy and Me--all night, every night. I have not slept a single night without her, taking her along whenever we travel. Wendy and I have been intimate for a total of 2525.4 hours. I don’t want to ever sleep another night without her, and I am thinking about buying a clone of her in case she gets sick or something. With the addition of software (Wendy used to be blonde) we have fine-tuned our performance and our AHI is consistently in the 2-4 range, usually under 3.
She has done SO much for me! I’m always ready to get up in the morning and I feel refreshed, not tired like I was before I met her. I no longer wake up congested with my eyes full of gunk. My mouth is no longer dry from breathing through it all night. I no longer want to take naps at work in the afternoon, although an occasional nap in front of the TV still happens. I have more energy for projects and I exercise more.
Thanks for all of the support and encouragement so freely given by the members of this group. Wendy and I would not be where we are today without the knowledge we have gotten here.
Thanks, Wendy, for giving me my life back!
Sam

I think I would have named it Windy instead of Wendy.

Sorry, but no cute story behind the name. When I brought it home and started setting it up, it was obvious that it would be with us for a very long time. My wife suggested that we name it just about the time I plugged it in and turned it on. When the pump started pumping air she said: Wendy! We'll name it Wendy. Because it sounded like Windy. That's it.
That aside, I'm proud for doing this for a solid year with no missed nights, full compliance, and a vastly improved AHI over what I started with. Thanks for the help and encouragement, guys!
