Need some relief

Post by JuJu » Wed Dec 12, 2007 11:53 pm

I have been waking up with a very very dry mouth and dry nose.
I also notice that my ears feel like I have alot of pressure on them at times. It's a weird feeling.
But the mouth dryness is real bad...

I use the saline and the nose gels through out the day.

I have allergies and I take meds and shots.
I keep water by my bedside.

Anyone else having this issue? If so what helps?????

Dry mouth is frequently a sign of mouth breathing when you use a nasal mask. Are you sure that you are always breathing through your nose?

Do you use the humidifier? Perhaps you need to increase the setting. Also, my doctor recommended applying a small dab of vasoline to each nostril in the morning to help combat the drying effect of the therapy. (Using it at night might make it difficult to maintain a seal on the nasal pillows.)

I'm sure others have additional suggestions.

Have you changed allergy meds lately? Some of the decongestants can cause drying of the mouth.

I do use the humidifier. I have changed the settings.
Still having issues of dryness.
I use some saline before putting on cpap.

Not sure if I mouth breath.
Not change in meds for allergy.

You should investigate a chinstrap, or other method for closing your mouth.
