Hi,
My new M Series Auto CPAP just arrived, and I think I need to tweak my settings a bit. I'm using a Soyala nasal mask, and because it doesn't clear CO2 out very quickly, I find the lower pressure settings a bit of a problem. If the thing isn't producing enough of a flow, I get a mild claustrophobic feeling. With my Spirit auto set, my daily pressures hovered around 12.
What I'd like to know is:
1) What minimum and maximum settings to use.
2) How best to deal with the ramp up. Should I just get rid of it? The maximum starting pressure seems to be 6, which is not enough to clear the CO2 between breaths.
3) A-Flex or C-Flex?
Any other pointers will be greatly appreciated.
Initial settings advice please
Depends on what you are trying to fix...
Use of A-Flex allowed me to bump up the Minimum pressure by 2 cms (using #2 AFlex setting).
So if your CPAP pressure was 12 cm and you can tolerate it, put the Minimum up closer to your 12cm pressure. If you are looking for increased comfort without starving for air, I would put it higher than 8.0 cm, if you can tolerate 10 cm using #2 I would try that for the Auto:Min pressure,
Auto:Min=10 cm
Auto:Max=15 cm
Flex=2
Auto:Off=disabled
Mask Alert=Enabled
Note: AFlex doesn't work under 6.0cm pressure.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...
