Full Face Masks, Which One?

Post by sharonokc » Mon Dec 06, 2004 11:40 am

Which full face mask do users prefer?

In looking for a full face mask (I have been mouth breathing again), I have seen two online that I like. The Ultra Mirage (I currently have the nose mask) and the Fisher and Paykel FlexiFit. Has anyone tried both?
Has anyone tried the oracle oral mouth only mask?

The cpap sellers can tell about them, but only people who use the masks can give true feedback.

please let me know your preferences!

I have used the Respironics Comfort Full for the last two nights and it leaks a little. I will have to figure out a way to make it stop. It is comfortable though.

I prefer using my ResMed Ultra Mirage FF mask (nose and mouth mask) because it has the best seal on my face and it's comfortable enough to wear that I don't even notice it's there after a while.

That's only my opinion, however, and as others on the boards will tell you, when it comes to masks it's all about personal preference. Really the best way is to try different ones and see which one is the best for your face.

I'll chime in that I just picked up an Ultra Mirage FF, and it seems to provide a perfect fit for me. Very comfortable. Once my Aussie Hose arrives, I'll alternate it with my Activa.

Well, I ended up with a mirage full face mask small. It seems to work well but I must mash it down tight to stop leaks. I tried the fisher Paykel full face mask, which covers the chin. Unfortuneately the small was too long, and I had chin leaks. It is intriguing to note that I wore a shallow in the mirage nasal mask, but needed the regular in the full face mask. I think the masks are still designed for males (facial configuration wise),

I had not realized (according to the sleep tech, who also has apnea) that it is harder to fit a full face mask at higher pressures. I admit I feel air movement much more with the full face than the nasal. I rather like the air movement however.

Thanks for your responses.
