Hi everyone,
Wow what a wealth of information on this forum! After searching the forum, I wasn’t able to locate answers to the following questions and hopefully someone might be able to answer…
Who sells and has the best price on the Reslink and a compatible pulse oximeter device?
Has anyone had a chance to see which pulse oximeters devices are compatible with the Reslink unit and Autoscan or ResScan software?
Thanks!

Re: Reslink & compatible pulse oximeter devices
The Reslink modules have an input that works with a single type of SpO2 device. It is specifically a NONIN Xpod, see.... http://www.nonin.com/products.asp?ID=27&sec=2&sub=9book_bus wrote:Has anyone had a chance to see which pulse oximeters devices are compatible with the Reslink unit and Autoscan or ResScan software?
The Xpod goes between a Nonin sensor and the Reslink.
I'm not sure on the US pricing on the Xpod but I understand its around US$400-$500, then you need a sensor as well to go with it, which is another couple of hundred $$$.
Resmed intend the Reslink modules primarily as devices for use in sleep clinics, hospitals etc, rather than for home use, so they went for an Sp02 device that is straightforward for clinical purposes rather than low cost.
Cheers,
Bill
OK, that's what I'd heard about, but I got confused thinking it was something for home use. Thanks for all the good information, Guest and Bill.

From someone who now has all the bits....
The Reslink can use either
1) A Nonin XPOD + a Nonin 8000AA SpO2 Probe
The XPOD is a complete SpO2 unit in a tiny adapter (really tiny - so tiny that it is hard to believe it is a complete SpO2 unit).
The XPOD plugs into the side of the Reslink module usung a round 3-pin plug. The same XPOD will work with both the S8 ResLink unit & The Vpap compatible Reslink unit (there are 2 different model Reslinks).
The 8000AA is a typical finger clip SpO2 probe and it plus into the XPOD - there are 2 other types of SpO2 probes listed as supported with the Reslink/XPOD combo, the Nonin ear-clip SpO2 probe (can't recall its model #) & a disposable Nonin SpO2 probe (also can't recall its model # at the moment) .
2) A Nonin IPOD (this unit is basically an 8000AA SpO2 finger clamp probe but has the XPOD built into it. It is only slightly larger than the std 8000AA.
The IPOD thus is an alternate to an XPOD + 8000AA. The upside of the XPOD is being able to plug different SpO2 probes into it vs the IPOD which is a Spo2 unit + Spo2 probe built into the one item.
*************************************************************
The XPOD & IPOD modules come in (IIRC) 2 main data output types. The type#1 which is what plugs into the ResLink, and, the type #2 which is more sophisticated & has a square 5-pin plug & won't work with the ResLink.
The type #2 XPOD/IPOD pumps out masses of data & is used in very expensive & sophisticated medical equipment.
Slinky knows the name of a ResLink supplier (sells both the S8 & Vpap compatible Reslink units). (I have his name but not here with me at the moment).
Google Nonin XPOD or Nonin IPOD & look at the pdf docs for the specs.
DSM
PS - there have been some Nonin IPODs for sale for $89-$99 on ebay but take a close look at the pic on the packed is #2. Theses ones are the #2 model & *will not* work with the ResLink which can only accept the #1 model.

xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)
Some more detailed information;
Xpod (with sensor like 8000AA or maybe 8000 Soft sensor)
Xpod part # 3873-001 model # 3001 serial format #1 without connector (2 meter)
Xpod part # 3873-101 model # 3001 serial format #1 with 4 pin Lemo connector (2 meter)
Red - V+ (2-6VDC, 60 mw typical)
Black – Ground
Cable Shield – Ground (both Black wire and Cable Shield must be attached to ground on the host device)
Green – Serial output (TTL)
Yellow – ECG Sync (not needed)
Ipod
Ipod part # 3830-001 model # 3211 serial format #1 without connector (1 meter)
Ipod part # 3830-003 model # 3211 serial format #1 without connector (3 meter)
Ipod part # 3830-101 model # 3211 serial format #1 with 4 pin Lemo connector (1 meter)
Ipod part # 3830-103 model # 3211 serial format #1 with 4 pin Lemo connector (3 meter)
Red - V+ (2-6VDC, 60 mw typical)
Black – Ground
Cable Shield – Ground (both Black wire and Cable Shield must be attached to ground on the host device)
Note: Sensor is not isolated from input voltage.
Green – Serial output (TTL)
Blue – Serial output (RS-232 not used)
The only missing peace is getting the correct Lemo 3 pin male connector that will fit the ResLink 3 pin female connector. By chance, has anyone discovered what the Lemo part # is? Otherwise, maybe one could change out the 3 pin Lemo ResLink connector and replace maybe with the standard Lemo 4 pin connector. Also, has anyone discovered the pinout on the ResLink and located a supplier for the Ipod and Xpod units? I’m very interested what anyone might have come up with in order to get this working!
Thanks!
