Well-it finally happened--my Liberty broke Saturday night--that little ring clip thing that attaches the elbow to the mask. I took it back today, and my DME exchanged it-no questions asked--the whole mask, not just the elbow.
The good news is...it seems as those the ring is better made now--it seems a bit thicker, and it seems like there is an extra little "drop" of plastic at the top and the bottom where the trouble spots are. I wish I would have opened the package at the DME and compared them, but didn't think of that at the time, and was just now noticing the difference whenI was putting my mask together. Also, it seems like the headgear is not as big--with the other one, I had the velcro pulled back as far as it could possibly go and still be attached. This new headgear doesn't have to be pulled back all the way like that to get a good fit. Think I'll try to contact Resmedtomorrow and find out if they have indeed reinforced that ring and changed the headgear a bit,or if it is just my minagination:)
My Liberty broke too :(
Please let us know what they say.

I haven't used my Liberty that much, but the one really frustrating thing to me is how easily the two straps come off at the top of the mask. (The other night, one of them popped off several different times as I was trying to put the mask on.) Does anyone else have that issue, or is mine possibly a little off?
I've read a lot about that clip part where the hose hooks onto this mask breaking. I hope they did redo it. (Any idea why they made it that way, instead of your regular hose hooking directly into the mask, like the Hybrid and UMFF, for example?)

Innomed Hybrid Mask
I really do like the liberty, it is the only comfortable full face mask that I can sleep with throught the nights, but it does have issues. I broke the elbow clip part from squeezing too hard taking it off the mask. Learned that lesson and will be much more gingerly taking it off, or will remove from the hose part instead. My DME replaced the whole mask no problem. Apparently a problem with many that RESMED needs to fix. Agree that the clips both sets don't stay on well, I haven't had a real problem with them coming off while wearing though. I am interested in trying the Hybrid and seeing how it compares to the Liberty.
Anyone out there use both the Liberty and Hybrid and could comment on the differences?

The new headgear also isn't as stretched out as your old headgear was. You adjust, it stretches a little.... you adjust a little, it stretches a little more.. you adjust a little more.. before you know it, your at the end of the adjustment...

But the first one I had it all the way at the end from the time that I first wore it so when it got to the point where it started stretching-I would have had no where to go with the adjustment. But I know what you are saying, and have had that happen with other headgears.msheda wrote:The new headgear also isn't as stretched out as your old headgear was. anyway--I just talked to Resmed, and yes--they have revamped that clip part that connects to the mask-so that is good news!! And yes-the headgear has also been revamped to be able to fit smaller heads better...so eveidently--they listened to what the consumers were saying. Just wanted to let you know.
Last night was my first night with the Liberty and my leak alarm woke me several times to adjust it. I will try again tonight and just tighten it up though but I know Im suppose to not make it tight but not sure what other options I have. Going from a NAII to a Fullface is hard enough it would make the transition much easier if I can make a FF with pillows work. If I leak again alot tonight I will be making a trip to exchange and try a hybrid if they have one - I really wish they made a Medium in the Liberty. My leaks seeme to come from my lower side of my cheek mainly when I would roll from my back to my side...any pointers?

I have had nothing but problems with the liberty. The clips on the top of the mask that hold the headgear on broke and now the head gear comes of very easy. I tried using super glue on it, without any luck. Now, the anti-asphisiation (sp?) piece of rubber is missing, so all the air blows out and doesn't do any good at all. I love the mask, just too many issues.
