Nasal irritation

Post by LuvRedDogs » Fri Nov 09, 2007 9:26 am

I picked up some gel from work to try last night. I had to apply it a couple of times during the night. It seemed to help. I also figured out that it is the moisture combined with the plastic that is causing the irritation (on whichever side I am sleeping on). I turned my humidified almost all the way down and it seemed to help some.
I am really glad I found this forum because I felt that I was going crazy. When I called and talked to the person where I got my machine from, she was not very helpful.

Thanks to all who responded.

Pam

I"m sure glad the suggestions here helped get some relief. I had the opposite: no humidification CONTRIBUTED to the drying, chapping of the interior of my nostrils, as did the passover humidifier (winter months, furnace on). I needed both the warming of the air so that it wasn't so frigid AND quite a bit of humidity.

I hadn't heard about the Ayr Saline Gel or equivalent at the time, the only thing I had heard was to NOT use a petroleum base product inside the nose. I haven't had the problem since BUT I do have an Ayr Saline Gel setting in my CPAP "things" drawer!!!
