One month later and now how do I feel?

Post by Fruitloop » Tue May 24, 2005 5:16 am

Just wanted to check back in and thank each and everyone of you that had helped me out when I first learned about my apnea...and what it was going to take to turn things around....

I received my CPAP exactly one month ago today....besides going thru the newbie rip the mask off ...put it back on for the first few nights, until I was determined to work with it and fought ripping it off...I can honestly say that I can not recall ever feeling BETTER, more aware and awake in my entire adult life!

I went to the Doctor's yesterday and the response was the same...both from the Doctor and her staff...they were ranting and raving how much better I looked..they said even my skin color was so pretty now...the BLACK CIRCLES are gone!

I actually can stay awake now until 10 or 11 at night which was never something I could do before!

I get up in the morning with a REFRESHED feeling and now walk with a bounce in my step and a smile on my face!

I can THINK clearly....stay alert!

I am just so filled with sorrow thou that it took until I was 46 years old after years and years of walking around like a ZOMBIE and continuing to tell the Doctor how horrible I felt... for one Doctor to be wise enough to send me to have this checked out and that only happened because I started to pass out in public places...such as is the case that I went down in a shopping mall parking lot hitting my back and head on someones truck! I went down in my kitchen in the process of cooking on the stove!

He of course was thrilled that we found out what is wrong now...and he made the comment it all makes sense now everything you have been saying and telling me...all makes sense now! We I am glad it makes sense now but it almost cost me my life because it went on for so long it started to affect major organs! sheeeeeeeesh!

But I refuse to look behind for that is the past...I am looking forward to having many more days as I have had this past month!

My suggestion to anyone that is new..is do not fight with your CPAP machine...nor work against it....WORK WITH IT and in a short period of time it will become your very best friend!

Amazing is RIGHT! It is like being given a new outlook on life! My family can see and tell as well..they are like hello? who are you? LOL The only thing I can compare it to is like coming back from being a living walking talking zombie. Or awaking from a very long foggy filled nap nightmare that lasted for years.
