Mask Seal tore, what now?

Post by wahooker » Mon Nov 05, 2007 2:48 pm

Well, here's the situation... I've been on CPAP for about 2 years, since then I've changed Jobs, Insurance, Etc. Haven't had any followup from the DR. or the DME. I also found a used APAP/Mask here.

Everythign was going well, 100% compliance... But over the weekend, the seal on my mask tore. Luckily, I do have a backup, the el-cheapo one that my DME originally gave me before I knew I really had a say in choosing one.

However, now I am used to the Mirage Activa. I know it's a higher end mask, and it looks like some DMEs don't carry it. It's a lot more for me uncomfortable wearing the old mask.

I know, I could always get one at cpap.com. However, if I do that, My Insurance (UHC says they won't reimburse me for it.) I've already met my out of pocket maximum for the year, so If I get a mask via a local DME, It is $0.00 out of pocket for me.

Is there any way to buy via cpap.com and get it treated as an "in-network" service?
