This isn't really working too well for me.
I've been on CPAP since about September of 2006. I think the only way it's really helping is if I'm on a business trip sharing a hotel room with someone, my co-worker says with the CPAP I don't snore. Other than that, I have problems with flatulence caused by swallowing a lot of air, as well as feeling like my eyes are bloated all the time. Still trying to figure that one out. My ENT says it's impossible for air to leak from my oral/nasal cavity into my eye sockets, so I don't know why I have that symptom. It's very irritating. For a while, I got used to it, but lately I've been waking up at 3am and taking my mask off to give my eye sockets a break. I've tried some other masks, but the ComfortLite seems to be the only onecomfortable and flexible enough not to leak or leave marks on my nose.
Do you have software to check your leak rate? Maybe your mask is leaking air into your eyes. You need to make sure that isn't happening. You may need a new mask. There are others here that can help you alot more than me. Good luck!

If your eyes are bothering you at night you can't rule out leaks into the eyes from the mask. You might try some other masks such as the swiftII and Optilife nasal pillow masks. I have used both with little leaking. The cpapauction.com is a good place to try some other masks at a reduced cost. If you try some and don't like them you can always get some or most of your money back by selling at auction.
Hope you are able to find that just right mask. I really believe the perfect mask is out there for you. The trouble is finding it. Of course trying as many masks as possible is the key.

I agree with Eleena and curtcurt46, maybe another mask may be better for you! A few years ago I had used the original comfortlite and also had puffy eye problem. Also if it seems you are not getting leaks into your eyes from the mask, you may have the mask adjusted too tight, sometimes that pressure causes puffy eyes etc.
All the best,
Steve,

eyes and nose
I hate to differ with a doctor, but my ENT said it is absolutely possible for air to go from the nose into the eyes. I have that problem, and if you search, you will find reports here of others who do also.
Check this info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lacrimal_punctum
There is a nice picture there showing how this works. The punctum is the tear duct that goes from the eye to the inside of the nose.
This could be your problem. Air forced into your nose by the cpap can indeed go into your eyes. There is a video somewhere on this forum of a kid who can drink milk and have it come out his eyes. Gross, but dramatic.

I remember surfing the remote late one night quite a while back (the Tonight Show maybe?) and this guy snorted a glass of milk into his sinuses and then squirted it out his eyes ... really freaky stuff. There have also been other members here on the forum with similar experience of air leaking through tear ducts (I think Ellen - aka: whatrdreamsmadeof reported these symptoms) ... so there must be a connection.
I agree with SD that your ENT must be fundamentally lacking and you should look for another.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
Eye Problems
tarzan....I would add one more item to the list that Snoredog suggested: See an ophthalmologist for an eye exam.
You need to be sure that your apnea and/or mask has not caused any damage to your precious eyes. I have eye issues that worsened when I began CPAP therapy. An eye exam changed my setup and bedtime routine and assured me that none of the damage was permanent.
Meanwhile, I read on another apnea forum that eye problems are in fact associated with sleep apnea. You may want to check it out at: http://www.apneasupport.org/about12946.html

Exactly, I saw the same episode, the guy was blowing bubbles out his eye,DreamStalker wrote:I remember surfing the remote late one night quite a while back (the Tonight Show maybe?) and this guy snorted a glass of milk into his sinuses and then squirted it out his eyes ... really freaky stuff. papoose, can you recheck that URL? I got a '403 Forbidden' when I tried to view it. Now that you mention any time I've tried to view something on the apneasupport site i always get the 403 forbidden message. What's going on?papoose wrote:Meanwhile, I read on another apnea forum that eye problems are in fact associated with sleep apnea. i've got something funny going on with my eyes too, also puffy and annoying. I thought it was related to my other health issues but maybe it's xPAP?
URL
echo....The URL I gave earlier is good. At least it works for me. You may have a technical problem, but here's a workaround if you want to read the post...
