Optilife Users....Are you happy with this setup?

We will then request the Respironics Company to provide a swivel elbow which can be place 4-5 inches below the pillow. There would be a seperating point inin the hose in which the elbow could be insert or left out (optional).

Either that or else just built in to the hose directly, with some sort of a built-in clip or toggle or dealy-bobber that would click into place to choose "straight" instead of "swivel" mode.

The Optilife was my first mask and liked it except for the hose down and no way to change it. I would still be using it if it was made like the Swift II I am now using.

YES, I would love to have a swivel on my Optilife. That would make it the perfect mask.

I added an Activa "Inlet tube with swivel assembly" between my Optilife mask and Sleepzone heated hose, and that has helped a lot.

For those who aren't already using it, I highly recommend getting the lightweight Performance hose to use with this mask.

I am fine with the way the hose is. I clip the hose to the top of my nightgown. It helps to keep the mask stable. Then I take my tubing and run it down my side. I sleep partially on my back and partially on my left side. I don't sleep on the right side because the exhalation bothers hubby. This mask has worked the best for me. I would like to try a comfort curve some day.

I did try one mask which had a swivel, the Opus. Here's a link to it:

I didn't care for it. The nasal pillows popped out too easy, and it was very noisy. When I say the nasal pillow popped out, I literally mean they popped right out of the mask. They don't set in the mask very well. I would wake up with them on the bed or on the floor. My pressure never goes above 11, so I am sure someone with higher pressure would have the same problem. The nasal pillow part is a bad design. Also I don't care for any head gear that is mainly velcro straps. I have longer hair, and those tend to slide right off my head. I tried the Opus with the hose going up the side, but that didn't work for me. That is also why I don't use the Swift II (it was the first one I tried). I don't care for anything going up the side of my head and above my head. I feel it pulls my nares up all night.

I tried the Opti Life also because I thought that the Swift II laid too heavily on my upper lip. The hose issue was the number one problem I found with this mask. I think the swivel should be an option. After just one weekend I asked for my Swift II back. I love the Swift II now and feel totally adjusted to it.

No problemo. The tubing probably isn't really all that--I mean, it doesn't cook or clean the bathroom or do any of the other things I would REALLY appreciate, but I do like the fact that I can drape it across my shoulder or neck if need be and hardly even notice it.

I love my OptiLife as-is and don't want a swivel. The swivel on my Hybrid drives me nuts, it makes noise and also makes the hose jam straight into my breastbone.
