Product Challenge: Free Equipment In Exchange For Feedback

Post by forumadmin » Thu Nov 01, 2007 7:27 am

Greetings CPAPtalkers,

This morning we launch the CPAPtalk.com Product Challenge. The new system is a tool manufacturers of CPAP equipment can use to prove that their product is truly superior to a competitors by holding product satisfaction trials.

The first of these will pit the challenger Bravo against the challenged Swift II. The Swift II has an online market leading 39% share of the nasal pillow system niche. Teleflex Medical, makers of the Bravo, believe that their product competes well with the Swift II and they want the world to know it. To this end, they have provided CPAPtalk with 50 free Bravo's to be used in our challenge.

Our job is to find 50 current Swift II users who are willing to receive a free Bravo in exchange for filling out a detailed satisfaction survey after two weeks of testing both units. We will administer the test and publish the results shortly after the challenge is completed. As a condition to all product challenges, challengers are made aware and must agree to have the findings of each trial published regardless of result. Product challenges are decided solely by patient preference.

This is the first of many product challenges. If you are not a recent Swift II user, there will be many product challenges in the future. Enrollment for them will be announced on CPAPtalk.com as well as in the CPAP.com Newsletter. To subscribe to the newsletter, please visit:

FANTASTIC, Johnny!!!! Thrilled to see this innovation!

I'm not a Swift II user so I'm not eligible for this one. But I'm signing up to be kept informed of other equipment "challenges".

I signed up. I use the Swift II and I think it will take a lot to beat it. I am willing to give it a shot though.

I signed up for the free trial

Post by SleepyNoMore » Fri Nov 02, 2007 11:51 am

I signed up for the free trial, I have really been having a bad time with my Swift 11, lastnight I finally just pulled it off and didn't wear a mask at all. It seems it is getting less comfortable by the day as I am a side sleeper and even with the pad a cheeks, the straps still bother me and lay very near to the corner of my eyes, it also makes round dents under my nares (sore) and dented all day, lol. The night before last, I tried my ComfortLite 2 mask, have my humidifier set on 1 and woke up inhaling large amounts of water into the good nostril, that was awful so i've had 3 bad nights of sleep and i'm Sleepy! I am on my 5th. mask since I was diagnosed with Apnea ( about 2 or 3 months ago ) and have paid cash for all except the Swift 11. I want a mask that will work for me but haven't found it yet!

I was an OptiLife user until the Swift II came out this past Spring... now it's all about this mask. I'm about to order a new one, I think the headgear is stretched a bit too much for comfort. I would love to try to see of the Swift II can stand up to a challenge!

Terrific idea, Johnny!

This concept has something in it for everyone - manufacturer, CPAP users, CPAP.COM. I'm looking forward to more challenges whether I participate or not ... the feedback from them will be priceless.

I'm not a user of the Swift II so I'm not eligible for this one.
It's a great concept Johnny!!! I look forward to "throw-downs" in the future.

Something I'm interested in with this test/evaluation is side sleepers. It appears to me that side sleeping will be limited with both masks. I'm a side sleeper, so I'm very interested in any comments from side sleepers!!!

Thanks Johnny!!!!
cheers

I too am hoping to be included in the trial. I tried on EVERY pillow and nasal system that my DME provided. My first was the optilife, and I kept having trouble with the pillows and the connector to the hose. I have been using the Swift II for about 3 months and it is better than the optilife but is not perfect either. I think the challenges will prove to be a wonterful way to determine what patients really have to say about the masks and give other members of the forum the ability to try masks that they might not be able to try.
