Newbie on Board

Post by chieflawdawg » Wed Oct 17, 2007 7:43 pm

Well, here I am. Just got my new CPAP today and lying here trying to get used to it. Say this forum and thought I'd join. Have read many posts already and it is good to know that I am not alone in this new, life changing adventure. My wife and I are both looking for some restful nights without me snoring and her not having to kick start my breathing. I look forward to actively participating here and learning much from y'all. Thanks already for the advice that you have given to others that will make my transition smooth.

To make your life changing adventure smoother ... get a copy of your "full" sleep lab study (not just the summary) and also get your original copy of your CPAP prescription.

You have been given the most basic machine (hopefully you are still in the rental period) ... you will want a better one.

... Well actually, your profile does not make sense as you have a ResMed Escape and a Respironics humidifier (not compatible). Never mind -- I see you fixed it now.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Welcome, ChiefLawDog!

I'm glad you found us here. It is indeed life changing and an adventure at times, too!

I do agree with Dreamstalker. Your machine is not data capable, you will need a Resmed Elite or Auto to get that capability. It makes a big difference if you can get a data capable machine. If it is still in the rental period, you may still be able to get a better one.

Welcome!

Glad to have you aboard.

And judging by your name, it looks like the new sheriff might be in town.

Quick everybody, close the saloon, and get Ms. Betsy's girls upstairs . . .

Welcome to the board.

Although I want to know your computer set up that allows you to lay there getting used to your CPAP while posting on a board. Hmm... let's, wireless keyboard and a mouse, with your monitor running through a projection TV device that is projected onto the ceiling above your bed? (I can just see this being the next big thing in Vegas Hotels too btw...)

(btw... take some thing I say with a block of salt...)

Welcome Chief!

Joined here about 3 weeks ago myself. I got the grins when I read your statement about your wife kick starting your breathing. I haven't had sore ribs since I started CPAP. My wife used to gently shake me to start me breathing again. I guess over the years that got old. Shortly before I went for my first sleep study, she just took to giving me an elbow .

Welcome to the forum!
