Mirage Activa

Post by Guest » Tue Oct 16, 2007 7:57 am

Hey guys,

I use a Mirage Activa Nasal mask and have been having problems. Around the exhaust ports or the swivel ( I can't tell where) I get a high pitched wheezing noise, like a whistle. This only happens after I have been using it for a while and a slight tap with one finger on the swivel stops it. It's loud enough to wake me. It will happen several times throughout the night.

I have had this mask before (this is my fifth one) and never had this problem. I believe it may be too late for a return as I have had it for a few months now.

Any ideas?

Activa noise

I noticed mine started making a whistling noise so I soaked it in soapy warm water for an hour (I was busy doing something else) , then rinsed it in a vinegar rinse and that seems to have stopped the whistleing. No sure what the cause was or if a good washing had anything to do with the fix.

the green triangular ring that fastens the silicone to the base of the mask
has 3 clips-- 2 larger ones on the sides and a smaller one on the bottom
I'm willing to wager that the bottom smaller clip is not adequately pressed down to lock it in and allowing pressure to escape- check it out and press it down firmly
I had the same problem and it drove me almost to drink!
