Wheezing In Chest From CPAP?

Post by Guest » Fri Oct 12, 2007 5:27 pm

Since I began using A CPAP a few months ago, I've noticed wheezing in my chest. Has anyone experienced this? Is it possible my humidifier setting is too high?

Well that sounds like a condition your doctor should be checking out.

I also have wheezing when my humitifer settings are set to high, try a lower setting.

If the wheezing continues, I suggust talking with your doctor.

Do you smoke?
How high do you have your humidifier set to?
What's the relative humidity like where you live? Humid? Dry?
Any other respiratory conditions? In the past?

What machine are you using? Is CFLEX/EPR/AFLEX/BIFLEX enabled?

Have you had asthma problems?

Wheezing

I too encourage you to get checked out by your doctor. I made assumptions about some breathing difficulties and delayed on suggested followup and now I find there is an autoimmune inflammatory process going on in my lungs and joints that is requiring long term steroid treatment. I wonder how much easier resolution would have been if so many months it hadn't been allowed freedom to run rampant.

Best to get checked out and maybe nip something in the bud. Or get the peace of mind of knowing it's nothing to worry about.

Hi All,
I have suffered from OSA for years and only recently found out. Doc put me on the CPAP but I am asking myself if it was worth it. I wake up two or three times a night with what feels like an asthma attack, continuously coughing and I am starting to feel quite down. I have put off my humidifier as where I live humidity is around 90%. I don't know what to do anymore, I just want to sleep. I was looking at the list of symptoms whilst using CPAP and seem to have most of them. ANyway, we'll see what happens. Good Luck all. Andy
