ResScan Detailed, but not Summary, Data Missing?

Post by apnea13 » Tue Oct 09, 2007 10:54 am

I just tried to load ResScan data onto a notebook computer. Although my new APAP's use commenced on 08/07/07, I'm getting detailed data only from 10/02/07 through 10/08/07.

On my desktop computer, I've got detailed data from 08/14/07 through 10/07/07, the day I began a trip away from home.

Where is all my detailed data? Might I have caused its loss while retaining summary data from 08/07/07?

I'm clearly in need of some of the expertise from within this great forum.

The data is only stored in the machine for 5 days. Then the data is averaged into the total averages. So you must do a download at least every 5 days to keep that info stored in AutoScan. I assume the same holds true for ResScan.

I haven't used ResScan that much since I installed ResScan on my laptop until I was sure that it would incorporate all my data from when I first started using AutoScan.

Slinky,
What you say is corroborated by my creating a new patient and then downloading All data. I observe summary data back through 08/07/07 and detailed data back through 10/04/07, that is, only five (5) days.

This surprises me because ResScan offers the option of downloading at the very least the last 21 days of detailed data. If the S8 Vantage AutoSet doesn't allow this to occur, then which ResMed machine might?

Got me! I only have the Elite and the AutoSet Vantage. There's nothing higher in the Resmed line except the bi-levels, STs, etc.

Altho, I'm kinda curious what the S8 II series they've introduced in Oz (and maybe around the world except North America) have to offer different than the S8s.

Mebbe DSM or Bill Bolton or Modzy can answer your question.

I know there are differences in the time depth of data available depending on whether it is transfered via a ResScan card (which is limited to 5 days of detailed data) or via a cable connection, but as I don't have a cable connection for my S8s I can't tell you what the difference is.

In terms of travelling and using a laptop, I suggest that you copy your patient data file across from your desktop to the laptop and just keep adding new data to it a syou travel, then copy it back to the desktop when you are finished with the current journey.

At present ResScan has no data export capability but I've recently been told by Resmed that it will be coming in the release-after-next, which is currently planned for sometime in 2nd quarter 2008.

Cheers,

Bill

Hey, BillBolton, about ResScan not having provisions for exporting data: the new patient software for Respironics, the EncoreViewer has no data exporting capabilities either. BUT there's been discussion about some software that allows printing .pdf or printing to .pdf or some such way around that. Check the thread on EncoreViewer and see if you think it would work w/ResScan too. Please.

I'll find the posts and PM you w/them.

Slinky,

Under the report tab in ResScan, you can export the data as a pdf. Can't remember exactly where, but the capability is there. The graphs suck because they are based on a 24 hour x axis. I really wish we could get the numbers that make up the graphs.
