Tiara Advantage Mask - Not working for me
The mask is the hardest part to get right. You can try various adjustments with the mask. You can also try padacheeks. There is a pad for the forehead cushion. The pad makes the cushion much less noticable for the wearer. You can go to http://www.padacheek.com or just PM Karen at PADACHEEK and she will work with you to find a solution. You can also post on the mask roulette thread to see if there is a mask that you can try before buying one.
Don't forget that it takes time to get used to even having the mask on. Try wearing it during the day, while watching TV or reading(to help take your mind off it), it might help you adjust more quickly.

Hi Cancun,
I am not familiar with the mask giving you problems, but by the pictures, it does look very similar to the one you just ordered, and I have used that one.
(The ultra mirage II).
The mask is such an individualized thing. What may feel good to one is completely wrong for someone else.
The ultra mirage II, for me personally felt like just too much contact (coverage) with the face. Currently I'm liking the Comfortlite.
I'm assuming you've looked at all the ones on the CPAP.com website?
Basically, I just wanted to give your post a bump up, so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle.
Good luck to you.

Have you considered a nasal pillows mask? If you go onto cpap.com and look at the different masks you can see how they look. I started with a Swift II and think it's still a decent mask for me. You can find them new for a good price on cpapauction.com, though shipping costs may be more than posted if you are outside the U.S.
Mind you, I'm not recommending this mask over the others, it's just that a pillows mask might work for you if you've determined that a nasal rather than a full face mask works for you. Even if you don't snore and use a nasal or nasal pillows mask, you may want to consider mouth taping. I don't snore, but I do leak through my mouth and mouth taping works well for me (or poligrip strips, but those are harder to find).
It also depends on your pressure. You can post that in your profile, too and it will help people know more to help you.
Keep working with the mask you have until you find something better. It takes some work to get it right.

Bump.
Cancun 9, Have you tried the measuring tool here?
https://www.cpap.com/cpap-mask-sizing.php
It limited my choice drastically, but so far all its suggestions have worked for me.
How are you going?
regards
Di

Thanks for the postings. I appreciate the feedback. I think that masks are probably the only piece of equipment that needs to be more personalized. I have used the measuring tool to order the current one I ordered and expect any day. I may try a pillow mask as well. I am very new, so I think I will have to live and learn.
