Been using the Hybrid for about 8 or 9 months now. In fact, I just bought my second one a few weeks ago. For the 3+ years prior to that I tried most every FFM plus the Swift, Oracle and Activa. I loved the small footprint of the nasal-only masks, but chin straps were useless and I hated taping. The Hybrid gives me the best of both worlds. I get the advantages of a FFM (breathing through nose or mouth and no mouth leakage) and I get the small footprint and fewer leaks than an FFM I have used. I roll around a fair amount and I rarely have leak issues. My only wish for the Hybrid would be slightly wider/more cushioned headgear straps, but that is pretty minor.
Switch to Hybrid?
Have you tried padacheeks:http://www.padacheek.com? They're WONDERFUL! The hybrid straps are downright comfortable and it doesn't feel "clinical" or "medical" at all.S-Dubya wrote:My only wish for the Hybrid would be slightly wider/more cushioned headgear straps, but that is pretty minor.
Doug.

I am currently using the Swift II which is decent, but I need to tape my mouth because I found out I was losing pressure by opening my mouth while sleeping. I am not a huge fan of taping and the Swift II gave me a pressure sore on my nostril and I had to switch to to my original mask which is a Ultra Mirage Nasal mask. Since the Ultra Mirage leaks into my eye a lot I am thinking that the FF version will do the same thing.
That brings me to my question. I have a week or so to decide to keep the Swift II or switch to something else. I am considering the Hybrid and was hoping folks could give me some feedback on that mask.

You need to get the software and a card reader. (Plus a computer, of course). Make sure that your machine is FULLY data capable before you do. If you have the auto or Pro 2, those are both data capable. If you have the REMSTAR plus, that doesn't have those stats even though it has a card.skits wrote: And how come everyone seems to have stats on their sleep? I'm a newby and nothing was mentioned about me reading that card.
The card reader (usb port version) can be purchased for $24 from twofactors and they now have the software for sale on cpap.com.

I have been using the Hybrid for about two weeks and generally like it. It does take a little fiddling to get on set right. According to their templates, I should use the large mouth piece. The large leaked so I switched to the medium. It works better, lesson: always go to smallest mask that will fit. I tried the Liberty, but it rode up on my nose and I woke up in the morning (or worst in the middle of the night) with a very sore nose. The chin cup on the Hybrid keeps the mask from climbing up on me. I know some folks don't like the cup so YMMV. I keep going between the comfort jell nasal and the Hybrid. Both have their advantages. If you don't have a problem with something pushing against your nose, you might want to try the Liberty. Hope this helps. I'm just a newbee so here's your grain of salt ':)'

I have the liberty now, and made an appt. to switch to one that is a whole face (or so it seems LOL). I can't handle that flow directly up my nose. So far I'm only at 2 hours...and not much sleeping going on. When it kicked in higher everywhere started to leak. I just want to revert back to a child and throw a fit.
