I'm with you Slinky! For me the risks outweigh the benefits.

My machine offers plenty of benefits, very little risk.

Surgery on the other hand . . .

Hi,

My goodness this kind of surgery and treatment is far too invasive? Are the surgents from the fishing industry? I cant tolerate how the surgents pull the springs on the patinet's tongue. Let's go fishing and see how the fish struggle......unbelieveable.

Ahhhh I don't think so. That kind of surgery gives me the willies. I've had jaw surgery in the past and sinus surgery more recently...and the thought of having ANY more surgery in my head or face makes me want to run. NO MORE.

Tongue Repose Surgery

Post by kteague » Mon Oct 01, 2007 11:21 am

Motoapco25,

Could you elaborate on that a little more... have you been tested to see how your apnea has changed since the Repose surgery?

I'm another one who would say no to a barbed wire and tension line being in my mouth all the time. (Would it EVER feel normal?) BUT, if a procedure proved to be a cure, my mind would be open more to consideration.

Kathy

its the tongue tether, it is reversible and since they are not cutting anything out, to reverse you remove the tether and you should be back to where you were before the procedure.

I think it looks really promising. I applied for it and got picked to have it but was out of the geographical area of the study.
