What is vibratory snore index?

Post by dudley_doright » Fri Sep 21, 2007 8:23 pm

My VS index is 19.5 but my AHI is 3.1. I do have a large leak for 1 hour, could this be the cause of VS being that high? I normally get VS in single digit. Should I be concern?

Hi Dudley.

How have you been?

That large leak would more than likely be the cause of your snoring. Happens to me occasionally, too. The machine suspends recording of hypopneas and apneas, but it still records snoring during large leaks.

Best wishes,

Den

IMHO depending on what part of the body/mask interface was leaking, the laek could be making the noise scored as a snore.

It's probably not the "leak" itself that's registering as snores, but the loss of therapy air pressure that allows your nasal passage to start making snoring noises again.
