Bite guard?

Post by cflame1 » Fri Sep 21, 2007 6:04 am

Anybody else use one of these at night?

Does it completely keep your mouth shut... aka no mouth breathing? Or can you still mouth breathe?

Dentist wants me to get one, and I'm trying to figure out how it'll work with my setup at home.

I have used a bit guard for years. It does not keep your mouth closed so if you are a mouth breather it will not hamper that. It also will not stop you from mouth breathing.

The ones I have seen are for bruxism(?) tooth grinding. They only cover the top teeth. They do nothing to keep the mouth closed, just help stop the grinding, and protect the teeth from eachother.
