Yesssssssssssss end of 5 weeks. End of DME. I own my own equipment now, and I'm having dreams. Can,t remember back when I had a dream but for the last week I've been dreaming every night. Had a couple of "nightmares"but that don"t matter it's all good. My thought is if I'm sleeping deep enough to dream I'm sleeping well. Feel great and my energy level is up. More "good" days than "bad".
To anybody out there who's just starting or any one who is thinking about it, stay with it or get treatment. It's worth it to be "alive" again.
High tech or low tech makes no differance, just do it. I adjust my equipment up and down myself and gauge by how I've slept.I think I've got it close now.
Thanks again to everybody on this site for the tips and suggestions which have helped me in my success.
Dreams and Success
With your post I am wondering if that is the reason I have started to dream again. I have been on cpap for over 2 years. I bought a bipap machine a couple of months ago and I went to a different type of nasal mask and now I am dreaming again.

Actually, I hate dreaming now, because it means I've been awakened during REM sleep!
I used to remember all my dreams because REM was the sleep stage that was most broken up by my SDB. I would go almost straight into REM (bypassing everyone else; I could go into REM from being wide-awake, in under 30 seconds), then almost straight back out of it. So for me, a good night is when I don't remember any dreams, because it means I went through the REM stage normally without any introductions.
I count it as a good night if I either don't remember any dreams or only remember the one that was happening when the alarm clock went off, but remembering no dreams is healthiest since ideally you would only ever wake during Stage 1.
