Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage ??? Clinician's Menu ???

Post by coolbreezz » Thu Aug 23, 2007 11:19 pm

I would like to try my new Autoset on CPAP with the EPR feature. It is currently set on Auto. Can anyone tell me how to change the setting and set the pressure on this machine?

I think that on a Resmed machine you can only have exhalation pressuer relief if you are running it as manual CPAP the relief feature does not work in the auto mode. For that you need a respironics which in some models has C'FLEX relief even in auto.

I guess I got the clinicans manual with mine cause it tells how to set it up for either cpap or apap along with the pressure changes. It is easy to do so if you don't get the instructions you want, post it here and I will send the info to you.

I have that machine as well and have used it about two weeks' time in both auto and straight CPAP mode with EPR. I didn't see very much of a difference really. The pulminologist switched mine back to auto mode today at my appointment. They say that the EPR doesn't really work unless your pressure is at least ten. Mine was a 7 and it did seem to work for me anyway. The auto mode does seem to be just a bit more comfortable to me. Some do prefer to run it in straight CPAP though. I don't see why you shouldn't try it. I'm glad I've seeen what it can do in both modes.
