Just got back from the BME with my brand new Remstar M Auto with A-Flex.
I guess they finally decided that i was going to get my way with them or without them....and there was NO EXTRA CHARGE for the new machine. Now I just need to find the "Sweet Spot" on the settings as the Doctor wants me at 10 but lately on the Auto Cflex i have been at 12...any suggestions?
Also, I went back to the Quattro Full Face last week and finally have it fit to lower the leakage without cutting off my circulation....now I need to see if I can get the leakage to under 40....
Thank you
Elliot
I knew the DME would see it my way.......hehehehe

On the Quattro......have you used the Teflon tape wrap on the elbow yet?
And, maybe you're wearing it too tight. If you crush the seal, it can actually leak more.
I'm at 12 and with my Quattro I get leak rates in the lower 30's.

I found AFlex a lot more comfortable, it allowed me to increase the floor pressure lowering my AHI yet the comfort remained.
you'll have to play with it, but when I used it on #3 I felt like I was hyperventilating. So I'm back to #2.
I wouldn't limit the top pressure, give it some room to move if it needs to, if you were at 12 before I'd let it run to 15. Don't know what you had your old machine set for but 8.0 and #2 is pretty comfortable like no pressure at all.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Thank you very much.
I have loosened the Quattro and it is working better.....now that I have a new "data card" the average starts over...so it is easier to view until I get the card reader.
Snoredog....I had the Auto Cflex set at 7-12, as per a previous post on this forum.....and although the Sleep study said 8 and the Results off the card made the Doctor change it to 10.....right now I have it set at 7-15.....
Does the Auto AFLEX need a wider range to "Find the best setting?" Like a 5-17????
Thank you

Quattro
At first I tightened it to try a remove every drop or air leak......WRONG....
Then i got the CFLEX and it changed things......now I tighten it top and bottom so that it is secure but no to the point where it is pressing into my head.
Also the magic Dial is 3 clicks from touching the head....if I go any farther away from my head the air shoots up to my eye.....
If fact, and this is strange, last night I put it on....only had 1 clip undone for on and off...clicked it in and did not adjust it.....this is a first with ANY mask that I tried.
Good luck

My adjustments with the Quattro have been the same as I use with the UMFF.rooster wrote:I have a new Quattro in the drawer that I want to try soon. How loose do you adjust it? Thanks.Wulfman... wrote:..............

I have the forehead pad dial turned all the way in (clockwise) which puts the pads in the most vertical position it can be in.
Top straps loose (and I MEAN LOOSE).....just enough to keep it from falling off......but not "floppy loose".
Bottom straps are slightly snug. Not too tight and not too loose.....just enough to keep it against my face with a slight pressure.
If you're using an Auto and a pressure range, try adjusting it to where your upper pressure is going at night. With a range of pressures and "Flex" technology, you might get pulsing (mask farts) if it isn't snug enough. This is not a particular issue with single pressures.
If you're using a smart card, you might want to take it out if you're doing your strap adjustments with the machine running and delivering pressure.
When I adjusted mine for the first time, I don't even think I had it hooked up to a hose......just put it to my face and pulled the straps to where it felt "comfortable" and have never re-adjusted them......first time was "good to go". I also just unhook the right side fastener to take it off.
Compared to my UMFF, I can actually wear my Quattro a bit looser.
