I found the pressure difficult at first but now I sometimes wonder if the machine is even on (running 10.5-13) because I am so used to it. The first couple of minutes I notice it and then I don't. Hang in there and be patient it gets better. Read the "Recovery and CPAP Adaptation Stages" post under "Help for new users" under the the Yellow light bulb(look up the page).
I also found that listening to music or other relaxing recordings on headphones really helped me be distracted the first week or so. That way I was not just focused on my breathing with a machine strapped to my face.
It gets better. If it doesn't experiment with masks/machines and ask for help here.
Also I have learned to make sure I am not congested by doing nasal rinses or even sudafed if I have to.
Hang in there...it is worth it.

I just want to wish you the best of luck. I'm new with this as well, and the high pressure isn't my issue, i'm the opposite and already begging them to up the pressure a bit to where i tested at. either way isn't good, and I really think getting used to the whole thing is what it's gonna take...best of luck...corymomma
That is a really great idea. I am a new /struggling user and even though that seems like an obvious idea I never thought of it myself. That would be a great tip to add to Our Collective Wisdom in "Help For New or Struggling CPAP Users."Anonymous wrote: (jpd23)
