Anyone ever have an issue using a Debit card with Cpap.com? I tried to order a new mask and everything looked fine. Then I got an email saying there was an issue with the card. So I called and they confirmed the info on the card was correct and told me to call the bank. So I call my bank, and they tell me that it's not on my end and that there are plenty of funds to cover the $96 charge, but that cpap.com isn't sending "merchant information" which is why Visa is rejecting the debit charge. Anyone ever have an issue like this???

There is likely a middle man in the transaction who is at fault
Call the 800 phone number and go over it withthem on the
phone. They can try while you are on the line.
I have had worse in other business with a valid credit card.
Cpap.com are very nice people to do business with.

Finally took care of the issue. Spoke to Fernando at Cpap.com. He says it has something to do with the company the processes their orders being in Taiwan. Apparently they've had this problem a bunch of times with debit cards. Oh well. Nothing that's not fixable by using another card. So the Bravo has shipped. Looking forward to the possiblity of it curing all of my issues with the optilife.

Dish: Some free advice on this topic--don't use debit cards for anything. A debit card is a direct conduit to your checking account. There is not a credit card company standing in the middle. Unless your bank has told you otherwise, anyone who gets access to a debit card can drain your account and you also don't have the ability to dispute even fraudulent charges. Credit cards have policies and procedures that allow you to dispute charges and if you're successful, the credit card company will charge back the amount to the vendor.ejdischer wrote:Finally took care of the issue. Agreed it's better to use credit card, but debit cards have some limits on exposure:SleepGuy wrote: Dish: Some free advice on this topic--don't use debit cards for anything. * Your loss is limited to $50 if you notify the financial institution within two business days after learning of loss or theft of your card or code.
* But you could lose as much as $500 if you do not tell the card issuer within two business days after learning of loss or theft.
* If you do not report an unauthorized transfer that appears on your statement within 60 days after the statement is mailed to you, you risk unlimited loss on transfers made after the 60-day period. That means you could lose all the money in your account plus your maximum overdraft line of credit, if any.
