G'day all

Thank you..!!

I have been looking through the forum for a couple of weeks now and found your collective information very helpful.

I am newly Diagnosed with Sleep Apnea 10 weeks and 6 weeks on CPAP.
I only have a 10% airway and was having about 22 episodes an hour.

I can really appreciate the hassels that people have with getting started as it took months from first seeing my GP to finally getting on a machine.

But will comment that the Sleep centre that I was going through was excellent and lent me many masks and a couple of machines before I brought one for my self. I also have there back up support if anything goes wrong which could be quite helpful.

I think the "7 Stages of Sleep Apnea" pretty much explains to a letter my last 10 + years .

My start on CPAP has been slow ( although compliance has been excellent ) which I see is pretty common with only a few of the lucky ones getting instant relief . But I will say that several of the old symptoms are going and gone including the constant Haze , Poor sentence structure and really really bad memory..''My Memory is just really bad now" The 3 Pm and 2 Am pass out in my office Chair seems to be gone, and I have come a lot closer to cleaning the garage out then I have for years.

Anyway Hello to u all . Ill post my current Treatment and more details of my Sleep Study shortly for some fine tuning by the forum .

Welcome to being a hosehead, Gavan! I'm impressed by your sleep center's support.

For your information, you can put your current usage/results information in your signature. Click on the profile button at the top of the page, then enter what info you like (AHI, pressure, whatever floats your boat ) in the additional comments box. There are plenty of people who find that useful so they don't have to repeat it whenever they need help.

Doug.

Most Australian sleep centers are similar.

Both the public healthcare and the private medical insurance systems promote a greater range of patient discretion, which in turn drives significantly different patient experiences from those frequently reported in the US.

Cheers,

Bill

Welcome fellow hosehead!

Judging by the number of us on this board, soon we'll be taking over the world!

Or in the U.S., how about a hosehead for President?! That way, we'll know he/she is getting plenty of air to keep that brain supplied with oxygen.

g'day sport,

You picked a great place to find out about xPAP related matters.

Also we have a growing Oz contingent - even a few sandgropers

DSM
xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)
