I am getting an autopap friday to try for three days, then the sleep doc is going to review some data that it apparantly keeps (is three days really long enough?) He gave me Sonata to get me to sleep, which right now works well. We'll see how it does with that mask on my face. I'll aadmit to hoping that it works, but hating it at the same time.
Also I've seen some posts on XPAP. What's an XPAP??

Finally... a question I can answer
An xpap is a generic term for any type of positive airway pressure machine; could be a cpap (continuous positive airway pressure), autopap/apap (automatic positive airway pressure) or bi-pap (bi-level -- one level for inhale, one for exhale -- positive airway pressure).

I did a two-week trial with the autopap. Three days might be enough, but I'd ask for longer if it were me... and then INSIST that you get to keep the autopap! They pulled mine right from under me today and replaced it with a bottom of the line machine. I wasn't expecting this, and it has taken me aback. Needless to say I'm perparing for what might be an ensuring battle with the sleep doc/DME.
