Remstar Pro & Cflex
I have a Remstar Pro, model 1005961 which is supposed to have Cflex capability. I can get into the setup menu but there is no choice for Cpap or Cflex. Even though this model is discontinued, Remstar clearly states that it has Cflex. Does anybody have any info on this particular unit that may be of help to me?

The number you gave is for replacement filters. The set up for the Pro2 is here;

C-Flex runs in conjuction with CPAP they are not a seperate mode. If it has been disabled you will need to get in the set-up mode to turn it on. Hold the 2 arrow buttons and plug it in, wate for 4/5 sec holding arrows. You will get 2 beeps. Go through the menus to turn it on. Push the on button to exit set-up mode. Once it is turned on it can be changed by simply pushing the + button it should come up with a screen showing 1,2.or 3 with a little arrow under the one in use. Use the +/- buttons to move it to 1,2 or 3 then push the on button to exit.
Hope this helps.

Wow!
Thanks for the quick replies. The info given concerning setup conforms to what I understand about my cpap, however...........the menu that appears after holding the <> buttons does NOT contain any prompt for Cpap or Cflex. Thats the rub. I actually have a 1005961 model, not a 64, which as someone pointed out is a filter . I have emailed the issue to Respironics. Let's see it they'll talk to a patient.

I have that model
I have that model - Pro and same model number
Anyway mine has a sticker on it that says C-Flex.
If you are in setup mode , it will say setup on screen. You need to remove power before you hold the buttons. I just doesn't toggle back and forth.
Power up ( insert plug ) while you are holding the buttons. Then you will be in setup mode. The previous post is correct. you will have CPAP or CFLE as choices.

Larry,
You might write down all of the options that you see when you get into the setup program and bring them back here for us to look at. Make sure you ARE getting into the setup program. (should hear the beeps at about 5 seconds)
This may be premature, but depending on where you got that machine, someone may have put a Pro case on a Plus machine (although many of the Plus machines have had C-Flex).
It's been known to happen.
I'm also not sure if they had an earlier Pro machine that didn't have C-Flex. I know the one they discontinued 2 years ago had C-Flex, but no nightly detail recording.....only compliance.
Other than that, I don't know what else to tell you at this point.

Software
You seem to know a lot about those models .... Is it worth getting a card reader and software for the PRO model? You mention that it has no detail recording.
13.4 pressure - EPR 2 - on Cpap since 2004

Remstar Pro Setup Parameters
My unit provides the following prompts in setup mode:
1. English
2. Pressure
3. Ramp (linear)
4. Ramp Time
5. Min Ramp pressure
6. Mask Alert
7. Auto on
8. Auto off
9. Lights on/off
10. thp hours (total hours)
11. Save and exit
My machine is definately an older model, perhaps 6 or 7 years old.

Sorry to be blunt, but......NOPE!paradiddle wrote:You seem to know a lot about those models .... Is it worth getting a card reader and software for the PRO model? You mention that it has no detail recording.
That was the model (Pro) that a local DME would have given me in April of '05, but while I was shopping around, I discovered the Pro 2 on the CPAP.COM website.....and thanks to Becky pointing out what the differences were, I got the "2" (from CPAP.COM).
It's been my sentimental favorite ever since (AND my UMFF mask).

If it DOES say C-Flex on the case, it may have been like the situation I described where they mixed and matched some parts and made a whole one out of it.

Smart Card
My Remstar Pro has a smart card slot and seems to be capable of recording statistics since it can detect the precense of the card. I do not have the s/w however so I've never actually read the card.

I have smart card. When I first got the CPAP the doc wanted me to bring that in. I always forgot it. I think it just shows how long it's on every night. make sure that you are really using it.
I think Guest was telling me that the advanced software is not available on the PRO model. I was looking at other posts and saw descriptions of more data.
