RESPIRONICS REMSTAR ERROR 39 PLEASE READ

Post by Titrator » Mon Nov 01, 2004 10:05 am

If you get Error 39 on your Remstar, unplug the machine for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. This is not a critical problem and will not effect the way your machine performs.

The realtime clock on some Remstar machines will need to be reset by unplugging and replugging. This has something to do with the time change on Sunday night.

If you get this error please private messege me with your serial number. Respironics is going to try and pinpoint which machines are effected.

Where do I find the serial number?
got this error.
curious additional symptom is that since then the date / time
recorded on the Encore reports is 84 hours in advance of actual.
I have just erased the smart card to see if this fixes it.

From Respironics:

Respironics Advisory: Remstar Auto E039 Error

Dear Customer,

Our records indicate that you have purchased a RemStar Auto CPAP between May 20, 2002 and Nov 1st 2004. It has come to our attention, that due to a software bug in this series of devices, your customer may experience a E039 error. An E039 error is an isolated condition associated with the data logging function for the dates indicated below. There is no affect to the therapy delivered by the device or patient harm because of this error.

This event will occur on November 1, 2004 and also on December 1, 2004 (Note: if the device had been plugged into the wall and not in use on November 1, 2004 or December 1, 2004 the device will product an E039 ERROR the next time the blower is activated.)

This event can be immediately corrected by removing power from the device (unplugging from the wall) for a minimum of 30 seconds and plugging the device back in. The device is now ready for patient use.

If you have any further questions you may contact our Customer Service Department at (800) 345-6443 for further instructions.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your support.

Regards,
Shawn Trautman
Product Manager: REMstar Auto

This addresses the 039 but not the 83-85 hour error in the software.
I will post back if I ever get an answer from Respironics.

Talked with Respironics tech support.
The bug causes err 39 Nov 1 and Dec 1.
The power off/on for The Nov 1 erroneously advances the date.
The power off/on after the Dec 1 err 39 should bring
the date back to normal.

Mine is also 84hours in advance of actual time.
Hope that all the things will change back by Dec 1.

The time and date did not change back on Dec 1.
Instead, the machine hang with an error code of E 83. Luckily that the problem solved with reset of the power.
May I know what is E 83 ?
Thanks.

I've had my remstar Pro for nearly 2 years. Use it every night. Lately I've been getting an error E-12. Does anyone know what it might be?
