Trying another mask

Well on to another FF mask to try tonight! Started out with the Somnoplus nasal and did the mouth breathing thing. So next I got a Respironics Comfortfull and been fighting leaks on the corners of my mouth no matter how tight or loose I adjusted it (Wore off whiskers and have bruised gums, it still leaked) I did do the extra strap around the middle the last 2 nights and got my best leak rate last night (38 lpm at 11 cm h20) But still not fitting me right, way too tight to get it there! So today I went to the DME and got a F&P Flexfit 431, it felt real comfortable hooked up at the office, and didn't seem to leak after a little adjusting. So I am keeping my fingers crossed, and we will see tonight

Tighten too tight and the mask can't fill w/enough air to stop the leaks.

Try twitching your lips and chin around a bit to see if that helps seal those lower leaks.

Twitching your nose sometimes helps seal the leaks.

Running your fingertips along that seam between the outer cushion cover and your facial skin helps seal the leaks.

Sometimes just pulling the entire mask away from your face just a skosh and then letting it back down on your face will seal those leaks. Doing that lets the mask fill w/the pressurized air from the xPAP again.

I used a flexifit for about a year and never could get it to stop leaking. I really like a FF mask, but could never get a good fit with one (I tried only a couple other ones), so I've switched to a nasal mask and am now using a bipap machine. I miss my cpap and my FF mask but I need the leak-free nites!

After night number one, I really like the new mask The mask leak rate it lists at my pressure (11cm) says it is 41, I had a 42 last night, best ever so far! I did try all the other things that you suggested slinky, thanks anyway. So it appears I might have found the right mask, it was also very comfortable. So I hopefully have got rid of one variable here to getting treated good.
