Comfort Classic exhaust port

Post by BluBtl » Wed Aug 01, 2007 1:12 pm

I used the Comfort Classic during my sleep test and was recommended on my prescription, so thats the mask that I have currently. I have been on it for a week and a half now and have tinkered with the mask and have gotten it to almost perfect fit. My only problem now is the fluttering sound coming from the exhalation port. Acutally only one side of the exhalation port, the other side seems to have a thinner opening but is silent. The fluttering sound is worst than my wife's snoring. It sounds loud when I inhale and slightly when I exhale.

This is what is said in their features brochure:
"New built-in silent exhalation valve disperses the air for quiet operation"

Has anybody tinkered with the exhalation port? It looks like I can remove it and glue it back on at a better angle.

Edit:
I dug in a litter further in to the port. Looks like one side of the cover is press tight to the body and there is a sliver of opening for air to pass on the bottom. On the other end of the cover it is sitting about 1mm up from the body, allowing air to leave above and thru the bottom sliver, thus causing the fluttering sound. I used candle wax (only item available next to me) to fill in the gap on the top and some wax on the bottom to fill the extra 2mm gap. Now the air hole is symetrical and air is exhausted evenly and no fluttering sound. I freakin slept great last night.
