TAS chat room calendar
The chat times are Eastern Daylight time. When you first enter, you are in the "lobby" and there might not be anyone in the lobby. You have to look up at the top and click one of the "rooms" - usually the "General Sleep" or the "Apnea" room. Clicking the room will take you to where the chat-ers are gathered.
If you get disconnected or "booted" accidentally out of the chat room, you can sign in again to come right back in, but you'll have to give yourself a new sign-in name. There's a lag before the program realizes you've been disconnected -- it will tell you there's already a user by that name. To get back in, just add a number to your nickname, or make up a new name.

justonegoodnight, most of the time the chat rooms at TAS are empty.
There are scheduled times (evening, Eastern Daylight Time zone) every weekday when at least two TAS hosts are there for a two hour session of chat. That's when most people drop in to chat.
If you click this calendar link, you'll see the times when you're most likely to find someone to chat with and which room the chat will be in: TAS chat room calendar

I was on that chatroom last night for awhile (different username) and I saw you come on and participate. I was pleased to see you found it.
The apnea room of that chatroom is not always "open" -- meaning you can't even get into it, even if you're alone. One of the moderators seemed surprised at that, saying it's open 24/7. Sometimes it is, most times it's not. I say this because I thought that might be a nice place for people to agree to go to for some sort of instant messenging back and forth even if no scheduled chat is being held. Perhaps I'll see you again at one of those scheduled chats. (I was Troublewoman)

Re: Apnea Chat Rooms
I'm 23 years old married mother of two and for as long as I can remember I have had this
Issue I will spend hours trying to fall asleep and once I fall asleep I can sleep forever people
Refuse to try and wake me up because with out trying to I scream and yell or ignore them
I don't know what to do my kids are suffering from this because I always feel exhausted and
I always blame myself but no matter what I do I can't seem to change this my husband even gets
Angry with me because he only gets 4-6 hours of sleep at night and he is fully awake what should
I do I feel helpless

Re: Apnea Chat Rooms
Adelaide, I really feel for you. Have you tried to find a good sleep clinic? I was referred to mine by my GP, and it turned out to be a lucky thing for me, they are really good. And because it was a referral from my "primary physician", it was covered by my medical coverage. It can be very helpful to just talk to someone who can help you find out what your particular issues are, and help you make a plan to get to the bottom of this. Sleep apnea may or may not be involved for you, it might be diet, it might be other medications, it might be a lot of possible problems causing your sleep disturbance.Adelaide2008 wrote:I'm 23 years old married mother of two and for as long as I can remember I have had this

But I would really make an effort to find a sleep doctor that you can make an appointment with and talk to about what's going on with you. I'm really sorry that your husband isn't understanding and helpful, that makes it even more difficult to get perspective, when the people around you aren't even trying to understand or help.
Please do get a referral to a good sleep doctor, and talk with them about this. Sleep problems are very common, so there are doctors nearly everywhere that work with sleep problems.
Take care of yourself, please.
