I saw my Sleep Doc last night and he's sending me back to the lab. My first trip easily established I suffered severe OSA with frighteningly low drops in O2. The rest of the night I had the Tech pulling her hair out. Leaks, nasal mask giving me a stuffy nose, holding my breath when I was close to falling asleep. On and on it went until finally around 5 AM she gave up on CPAP switched to BiPAP and got some good numbers. Been on BiPAP since. Move the clock forward 5 months. Since my last visit to the lab I've seen an ENT guy to treat my chronic nasal congestion. A cortisone spray has done wonders. I now breath through my nose pretty much all the time. Something new for me. So the Doc now wants to try me again on CPAP hoping now he can dial in better numbers for me. So we'll see what happens. It certainly would be nice not to have the pulsing high pressures of 11/15 making my mask feel like a breathing ALIEN stuck on my face. We'll see. Wish me luck.
Back to the Sleep Lab
Good luck with the next sleep study. I swore not to go back after the first one, and was lucky they got enough data to provide a machine. After trying the CPAP and getting the benefit, I would have been mistaken to not keep going back until they got the data. If they offer sleep meds you may want to try those to help get it over with. Let us know how it goes.

Sorry to hear about the 3X surgery. I'll consider myself fortunate. They found polyps way back in my nose (needed a scope to get back there). Fortunate for me the polyps actually shrunk down to nothing with the steroid spray.CarrieS wrote:Let us know how it turns out - I too have too be sure to stay on my nasal steroids (Nasonex) or I clog easily - I have Non-allergic Rhinitits and have has polyp surgery 3 times.
