using the heat with humidifier cured me!

Post by TIGMONSTER68 » Wed Jul 25, 2007 9:05 am

Hello,
Most of you seasoned hoseheads probably already know this trick but I have only been a hosehead for 4 nights and the 2-3 nights I woke up with ear/sore throat/dry mouth.....so I read other people's posts that had that problem and they said all they did was turn the heat on the humidifier, just a bit, so I did, and I slept great and woke up with NO sore throat, NO earache, and NO drymouth. Thanks to whoever gave me the advice.....without this board I could have been suffering for who knows how long!

Excellent! So how is it going - still good? Are you having any water in your hose (rainout) or condensation in your mask from using heat?

I had rainout and stopped that with a ResMed Hosebuddy hose cover. Not as much success stopping mask condensation.

I'm glad you found the solution, Tig! I've alwo experimented with the humidifier a bit. I usually keep it on 3, which seems to be a good setting. But I have upped it or downed it a bit as well. I've also used it as a passover and put refridgerated water in the tank a time or two. How I use the same 3 setting and put the water in out of the fridge. It cools me down to get started and then the heat kicks in later. Works pretty well.

Was looking at your setup and noticed we have the exact same one! And I think I've said this a few times perviouslly, but I LOVE your avatar!
