Encore 1.6.22 problems - Any suggestions ?

Post by slepr » Wed Jul 25, 2007 8:01 am

Hi ,

I have: Encore 1.6.22, database 11.9 running on Windows XP sp2. It has been working fine for several months, up until last Sunday. I usually download the data every morning and choose to erase it when prompted.

On Monday of this week I tried downloading the data and almost immediately the 'Erase Data?' dialog box popped up. I thought that was a little strange as it usually takes a little time to read the smartcard. I clicked 'No' but no new data was downloaded. I tried again selecting 'Yes' for the erase question. Same result, no data was downloaded.

I can go back an look at prior interaction reports but it does not seem to be reading new nightly data. I've checked the seating of the smartcard in my machine, it indicates good.

If anyone can offer suggestions for correcting this problem I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance,

Slepr

I noticed that when I put the smart card into my machine I do not get that nice little 'chirp' sound. The smart card indicator blinks with a tiny 'x' inside of a box.

Does anyone know what that means?

How does one go about reformatting the smart card? I've tried 'erasing' from within Encore Pro but that made no difference.

Thanks,

Slepr

You need to go at this in logical way.
Assume the smart card is bad and get a spare and try it.
or assume the machine is bad and get someone to write and read your card on their machine. only then think you computer software or
reader is a fault. Depending if you have any recourse for any of the
variables.

good luck
