Living as rural as I do, we don't do a lot of fast foods -- the closest Micky D's is about 40 min. away -- Heck, it's almost 20 min. to the closest grocery store (at least one that has edible food in it -- the closest one always has stuff on the shelf that's past it's shelf date, produce that is questionable etc.....).

After being diagnosed with diabetes, I found that it wasn't the "what I was eating" it was the amount. So now instead of cooking for 4, eating for 3, I just eat for me. I'm 25lbs. down and have 30 more to go, but with portion control, I'll get there. I have to admit though, it ain't easy!!!!! I love food!!!

I do have to admit a weakness for pizza and good fries (not together), but hey, one has to treat ones self once in a while..... And in keeping with my portion control I can only have 2 slices instead of 1/2 the pizza....

CPAP sleep, eat healthy, exercise, it's all part of the process....Had I had any inkling that I'd live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself!!!!!!!

cheers

Wars arise from a failure to understand one another's humanness. Instead of summit meetings, why not have families meet for a picnic and get to know each other while the children play together?

Not quite true ... I've been recording every single thing I eat on a website for the last 10 days and so I've had to get the nutrition info off the label. Trans fats have to be ID'd on the label now, by law. And only one of the dozens of things I've entered into the website in the last 10 days has had any trans fats at all. And it's been nearly all prepared foods except fresh veg.

I'm not sure what it was that I said was false/untrue ... could you please elaborate? Based on your follow up statements, I assume you don't agree that one should avoid prepared foods.

Were the prepared foods also free of refined carbohydrates (sugar/syrup/dextrose or white rice, bleached flour), preservatives, food coloring, MSG, or have a high sodium content? Were they fortified with vitamins and minerals that were taken out during the processing and preparation? ... if they were free of all that crud, when can I come over for dinner?
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

If it has hydrogenated oil anywhere in the ingredients list it has transfats.

They can put on the ingredient label that they have 0 g per serving as long as it has something like .5 g or less per serving. Then you have to also check their "serving size" which is often less than you think.

Portion size is an absolute joke!!!!
1/2 cup of this, a tablespoon of that -- Right!!!!!

When I was diagnosed with diabetes I became a habitual label reader.
I was totally shocked!!!!

DreamStalker is right. Crap, crap and more crap. If it's not there, just ring the dinner bell, I'll be there too!!!!

cheers
