Do you mean software that lets the machine do self adjusting - i.e. an aumatic machine, or do you mean software that lets you monitor your own therapy?My Dr. doesn't think there's enough research to suggest a machine with software would be effective .
Studies about self titrating machines are not that very condlusive about their advantages, though the results can be argued about.
However, since you're doing your own adjusting anyway studies on that subject are irrelevant. You can either convince the doctor that it would be better and safer for you to have software that lets you monitor your therapy and the changes you make. Or else, look for another doctor.
You're not planning to come back to this doc in a month or two with pressure so different from what s/he prescribed, and behave as though it didn't happen. So why wait? At worst, this doctor may refuse to give you therapy if you change the pressure. At best, you'll become parters in searching for a solution.
