Post by oceanpearl » Thu Jul 12, 2007 10:46 am

Statistically speaking of course. Lotta people here are owned by cats.
I just want to go back to sleep!

Could Be! I have Sleep Apnea and I have a cat. Course I have 2 dogs to keep him at bay and 2 cockatiels to keep him interested so he won't get interested in my hose.

Actually.... if you have cats... and if you have allergies..... they could be contributing to the problem.... but I would say it is more than somewhat doubtful they(cats) actually cause apneas.

I just got my machine and the cats won't even come in the room till I take the mask off and turn it off - not that I am missing them waking me up at 5 AM but I wonder if they will learn to ignore it and start coming back in the room

I don't know about sleep apnea, but they sure case me to speed up when they run infront of my truck.

My mom has two cats and has been on CPAP for about 2-3 weeks now - her 23 pound Maine Coon has already bitten through her hose! Naughty boy

AH!!! I see... It's not just ANY cat that causes Apnea. It's specific to Maine Coons?

We have coons here. I guess they'd be called Washington Coons? They smell bad. I don't think I'd let them in the house. They are very large, and particularly fond of the frog fountain that squirts water in my parents backyard pond. Dad had to glue his little froggy behind to a rock to keep them from commiting Outrageous Acts with him...

I gave Dad some "antique" (as in old and beat up) duck decoys to float in his pond. Yup. You guessed it. The coons are bi-sexual. It's not just frogs that rev their engines. The decoys are now MUCH DISTRESSED.

Mom keeps getting up and yelling at them to shoo them off. I've been contemplating buying her one of those high-powered tennis ball slingshots to chuck balls at them.

LOL,
B.

Yes, CATS cause apnea.
They also cause mental illlness, ingrown toenails, balding, pms, lumbago, dropsy, aids, delusions and OCD.

They all should be destroyed immediately.

My cats have caused a couple episodes of apnea in me... once when one of them tried jumping off a tall balcony and another time when they brought live snakes in the house....
Nothing cures insomnia like the realization that it's time to get up!
