Fire Sale: M-Series Auto

Post by SithLord » Tue Jul 03, 2007 11:38 am

I got my Respironics M-Series Auto about two months ago. A week later I saw the same model is available now with A-Flex instead of just C-Flex. Too late, already purchased through DME/Insurance .

I am always attracted to the shiny new toy and want to sell my Auto w/ C-Flex and buy Auto w/ A-Flex with own money. I realize I may be branded on the forum as someone with more money than brains.

I'll sell my "certified pre-owned" machine for $100 off the going cpap.com price. See https://www.cpap.com/productpage-bundle ... undle.html. Private message please for takers. Negotiate if you are so inclined.

The sell job. Buyer will get all the virgin/packaged "stuff" from my new one: humidifier, humidifier chamber, hose, traveling case, smart card, and other misc. parts. So the only thing that is really used will be the base machine itself (which is scratch free). I'll pay shipping.

Nothing is wrong with C-Flex, it seems to work for me. But I can't resist chasing new technology.

I feel comfortable selling to a cpaptalk member who's obviously on a CPAP already. Regardless, do I need to worry about the prescription police in selling a machine? Am I making too light of a real concern? I noticed there are no Respironics CPAP machines for sale on eBay.

I am also concerned that my DME (Apria) will have a sh*t fit if they ever find out.

If this sort of "commercial" post is taboo, someone please slap me.

Are you sure C-Flex isnt good enough? I have never tried A-flex but C-Flex seems really good, how much better can it be?
Give me your money instead

This is not the first time an xpap machine has been offered for sale here. In fact, I bought one that was offered by a forum member a couple of months ago.

Given the limited opportunities there are now for purchasing previously-owned machines online (auctions, etc), I wholeheartedly support the continued offering of such items here.

I thought for, ohhh, about 6 seconds whether or not I could trust what I was buying here, and decided if I couldn't trust a fellow hosehead who had been a member here for over a year, who could I trust?

On the other hand, I saw a post a few weeks ago from a brand new member whose one and only post was advertising a machine for sale. Would I buy from him? Not...

If I had not just purchased the 420E apap a month ago, I would snap this one up in a heartbeat.

Good luck with the sale SithLord!

Bonnie

I did the same as Jabberwock. I bought a used AutoPAP from someone who had been a member here for some time. And I would NOT have bought from a one time poster offering an Auto for sale.

Conversely, when yahooauctions was still active I did buy a brand new in the box complete (except for mask) CPAP setup (humidifier, etc.) - BUT - I purchased from someone who had been selling on yahooauctions for several years and who obviously from previous auctions handled a lot of DME type of medical equipment. I had no regrets.

Well it's obvious from my stats on the left that I am somewhere between a new member and a veteran. I had been a lurker much longer, but didn't feel worthy to register/post until I was on the machine .

But who knows ... my previous posts could be an elaborate Ocean Thirteen's scheme ...

Hey, honestly? I was FINE on the straight CPAP with cflex. But I WANTED THE TOP OF THE LINE WITH ALL THE BELLS ANDWHISTLES so I demanded it, own it, and am now attempting to force the insurance to pay for it.

So, Me Three! And I probably would have bought this if mine hadn't come from cpap.com yesterday!

And yeah, I ran it straight cpap with cflex last night.... THHHPPPTTT!!!

LOL,
B.

Sithlord:
You do need to get the buyer to send you a copy of their RX. Acording to the FDC, private sales are subject to the same law as a business. I can't find the file right now or I would post it.

SithLord - Good Luck on Sale

Post by BillLacy » Fri Jul 06, 2007 12:29 pm

SithLord,

Just saw your post about the Fire Sale. I just missed it, bad timing I just got my M-Series from Apriva, yesterday morning. Their paying so it a good thing. But what really catch my eye is that motorcycle thing AND Centreville VA. As I am in Manassas and ride a 94 Goldwing...

So far being a brand Newbie, I have reply to Babette and you.

Lets chat sometime about CPAPs and Cycles.

Ride Safe,

bill

Actually, it did not print well on the web page, but what was stated elsewhere, was on Orders of more than $100, there is Free Shipping.

But I did see what you saw and it was something for Jay Leno's newclips...

ROTFLOL....
