My last sleep study was a disaster because of the inability to monitor sufficient consolidated sleep.
In your experience, what are the benefits/disadvantages to performing a sleep study on a patient who has taken Ambien or a similar hypnotic prior to their study?

Taking an Ambien during the sleep study would in no way effect the results or outcome. We will often give it to our patients who may have some anxiety. So I say go for it!

How long must you wait for your insurance to pay for a second sleep study if the first one was a disaster?

Thanks, Snoredog. But is Medicare that generous...a tough insurer to deal with, and Medicare rules the secondary insurer.
