Mirage Swift II has anybody tried it

Post by sugarsowner » Fri Jun 15, 2007 8:21 pm

I have the orig. Mirage Swift mask and it is the best one I have tried so far.

Has anyone tried the new model Swift II? It is supposed to have better
ports and more holes on the bottom of the nasal pillow instead of on side as the orig. Mirage Swift.

Please let me know what you think after comparing both of them.

I've now use both and have had great success with both. As for wearing them, the only difference I've noticed is the Swift II is a little quieter than the original Swift. Parts wise, they are identical EXCEPT for the frame, clip and pillow. The headgear, cap, and short tube etc are identical (color differs).

I like the Swift II as I personally find it quieter; other than that I personally can't tell any difference. If I had the choice again, I'd go with the Swift II, but then again that's me and masks are an individual thing.

Good Luck ,

Unfortunately for me the Swift II is not as quiet as the original Swift. I think it's because my nares are so tiny. If only this mask came in petite... I think the Swift II small mask is actually larger than the Swift original small mask, and so because I'm experiencing more leakage with it, this is the reason for the extra noise (imho).

I think Gknee might be onto something with sizing, I used the Swift medium and the Swift II medium does seem to be a bit larger, I need to tighten the back strap more. My Swift II pillow was sent to me without headgear. I used my old head gear. When I first used the Swift II I had a lot of leakage from the tube and headgear connections. I was waking up quite a bit to adjust. Someone (I'm sorry, I've forgotten who) suggested I might possibly solve the problem by taking it apart and using teflon tape to get a better seal. Since doing that I have had no connection leaks. The Swift II is so much quieter that I can now hear the waterfall from my pond outside my bedroom window at night for the first time since starting with the Swift almost 2 years ago. Nice sound.......
