Dentures

Post by TheeMrFrog » Mon May 21, 2007 8:20 pm

I got some good advice from members on a mask for a side sleeper. I am new and forgot to say I wore dentures and leave them out at night for a good cleaning every third night. Does that mean I have to get a full face mask when the teeth are out? I hope not. Any advice or comments are appreciated. Thank you. Mr Frog

How about soaking them every other evening after supper-and before going to bed???

Check with your Dentist, but they say you should remove them at least 8 hours per day, this restores normal blood flow to the gum tissue and helps with tongue and saliva cleansing promoting better overall health of the gums.

I would think it depends on your level of Alveolar bone loss, if too much you would probably be better off getting a Full Face mask. They come in handy during colds and allergy season.

Now if you had implants or implant supported denture you wouldn't have to worry about it because the denture is supported by the implants and not really resting on the tissue (depends on the number of implants used), some are supported and others only assisted (where molars rest on tissue pads).
