provider manual for Respironics BiPAP Auto/Bi-flex??

Post by ymidt » Thu May 10, 2007 3:54 pm

Hello folks,
I'm new to the group. My Respironics Auto Bi/Flex (not the M series) was originally set to 10/8, but my doc wants to change that and I'm getting tired of the 2+hr round trip to my "provider". I'm pretty good with electronic things. Does anyone have a copy of the clinicians manual as a .pdf or something similar that they could get to me via PM? I'd really appreciate that! And I also appreciate the wealth of other info you folks have shared -- which I've only just begun to dig through...

If you do a search here, it's not too hard to find out how the information you need to know. I too have looked around for a provider manual, the only place I found was on eBay.

Are we allowed to tell people how to set or change the pressure on their machines?

Good luck and breath deep.

Apparently....common people here frequently offer titration and medical opinions openly and without regard for manufacturer requests that certain things be kept restricted to a doctor, etc.. Granted, these people are good people and may know what they're talking about for their own personal cases, but they're not doctors nor do they know the health details of all of the people reading what they type. This aside, they usually never have a problem interpreting your reports or telling you how to access the hidden parts of your device, etc..

Whatever with all that last guy said.

Hell yes we'll tell you how to adjust your machine. This ain't TAS. There's already more info on this web site than in the manual, so search it. I'll try to scan my manual today and send it to you, if nobody beats me to it.

Oh, I forgot: I am not a medical practitioner, and blah blah blah. Where's that Universal Disclaimer when you need it?

Thank you everyone for your great advice.

I certainly do not plan to make significant changes to my machine's setting without the proper guidance, nor do I advocate that other's do. There are some minor things that I do want to change without the time and expense of going back to my provider -- and I've purchased a smart card, reader, and software so I can learn about and be in charge of my own health care. If you are lucky enough to have a physician that you trust completely to be on top of all your healthcare issues you are luck indeed. Most of us are not that lucky, and have to double check everything at the very least, and often go further by understanding the issues in detail enough to use physicians as expert advisers rather than count on them to be in charge of your treatment.

Congratulation, on your choice to become one of the "Common People", who care about your care and well being. That way you don't have to try to "poison the well", by using Guesting's mask of indifference. Enjoy your stay, and the best of health to you. Jim

Guest is obviously more concerend about losing income rather than helping patients ..
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
