REMStar Plus and Encore Pro Software

Everybody,

I have a REMStar Plus unit with a serial number greater than 3000000. This means that the communications port can be used with Encore Pro software supposedly. My question really is what I need to obtain the software and the communication cable. I also just noticed that Encore Pro v1.6i does not wirk with Windows Vista and there is a newer version 1.8i but that Respironics have supposedly pulled it off the shelves? This really sucks since it would be great to see how I'm doing two years after receiving my machine without having to go through another sleep study. Any suggestions?

The Plus still won't give anything more than "compliance" information. (hours slept)

Purchasing a machine (and software) that records the REAL statistics would probably be alot less expensive than having another sleep study.

Wow are you kidding me? The manual made it seem like a true communications port. I can get that info from the LCD screen. I would like to monitor all the good stuff other users on this forum monitor so I can objectively (rather than subjectively) tell if I am getting good sleep. As an example, I feel pretty good today compared to yesterday but one of the girls at work told me it looked like I didn't get any sleep last night. pretty frustrating since when I bought the machine two years ago I thought I was getting the best machine available. Guess I should have found this forum sooner. Thanks for your help.

If you want to upgrade without too much pain in your wallet, I'd suggest this one:

Since you already have (I presume) the humidifier, it would work with your machine.....so you wouldn't have to get a different one.

The Pro 2 is the machine I started out with (and am using this month) and I love it.
