Does anyone have United Health Care? I am loosing my job in 3 weeks. I will be getting married June 15th so then i will go on her family plan that she has with her 2 kids. My soon to be wife has UHC trew her work. The insurance company i have now has been renting my machine since i started in March. They have not billed me yet but i think it was $25 a month for 10 months rental then i owen the machine.

I used to have UHC and AETNA before them. They were fine, they both made you use Apria which kind of sucked. Instead of dealing with those idiots I elected to just buy my equipment outright and get what I wanted without the hassle, it was cheaper anyway.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

I have UHC but they offer several policies as most insurance companies do. You should discuss your soon to be wife's policy with UHC and see what it covers etc etc. UHC has online help, but it really is hard to navigate thru with useless info, taking forever to find what you want. I would just call, the number is on s-t-b-w's card. Oh, yes...it takes UHC forever to process claims.

My policy actually stinks. UHC pays 10% until I reach my huge deductable, then it's 100% paid. DME CPAP goods - one mask a year. My employer tried to save his money paying our premium which actually resulted in employees paying out the wazoo!

PS... snoredog... UHC allowed me to use OhioHealth, which is in network.

I too have UHC and for me they have been awesome. How mine works is you have a $1100 deductible (which my company pays half of), and after you pay the deductible, they pay 100% of your equipment. So just recently my sleep doctor told me that I needed to switch to a bipap machine and my insurance company is paying for it full since I've already paid for the deductible, They are paying $1200 for my auto-bipap. Much better than my old insurance which made be buy my machine since I wanted an auto-cpap instead of a regular cpap.

Also, Homereach is by FAR the best DME that I have worked with, so I highly recommend using them.

Hey, John. You might want to check and see if you can get the equipment sooner than 10 months. My DME has the 10 month rental then you own it, but you can also get it after 3 months if you want. If you like your machine you should check it out and see if you could pay all the $25 at once, but make sure it won't be costing you more to do this than you could buy online out of pocket.

I plan to get mine sooner than 10 months, since if I go over into the next year, my deductible will kick in again.

My DME is HomeReach also, I don't know how far around Ohio they travel since they are based here in Columbus with Grant/Riverside Hospitals.

I love them also. I was having trouble with my first mask. I called and asked to see some other masks and they came to my house the same day with the masks. I picked a new mask and they let me keep the first one, no charge for the second mask.
