Falling in love with my new CPAP and mask-no really!

Post by BrettMC7 » Fri May 04, 2007 8:27 am

Hello Gang,
First I want to thank everyone for supporting this forum and for sharing your experience & hope etc.
I had a split sleep study done a month ago and it was realized that on average I had 62 events per hour which include apneas and hypopneas. Two weeks later I received my machine and mask and through adjustments, acceptance and the knowledge that they really will serve me I have now fallen in love with my machine and mask since they allow me to sleep more deeply and soundly although not nearly as long as b4. I got to a point where I could sleep for ten hours and not feel rested and now after 6-7 hours of sleep I am awake and ready to go.

I did purchase the Encore software so I could monitor my sleep but decided to purchase another companies card reader for over $100 less and then downloaded the middleware and am still trying to make the damn thing work. So I went down to the company that is supplying my equipment and had them read the card for me. That number of 62 events per hour is now down to an average of 3.5 events per hour. I was told this was very good so I am really excited to know that my body is no longer fighting to stay alive while I sleep but is able to rest and rebuild overnight unlike before.

Sure I would rather not need any of this equipment, not wear a mask etc. but this is how it is and I am so grateful for this solution. My best to each of you today and always!
Brett

Card reader problems...

Post by Gryphon » Fri May 04, 2007 11:03 am

what sort of errors or issues were you having when you tried to use the card reader?

There people here who can help with the set up.

I too got a card reader for about 47 dollars and had a problem at first. you need to install a sepret driver that is just for "Encore Pro" or the reader won't work...

Hope all is well

Gryphon

Thanks for that

I did install the smartcard reader/writer, which is from Mako- in the proper order as I read in the forums and it refuses to see the device.
I was told they do not offer software support since I am an end user- that is why I have not reached out to them.
Thanks for your reply-sleep well!

I just used the drivers that came with Encore Pro 1.6i disk ... and it worked fine with my Mako reader.

As long as your reader is a DT-3500, it is correct, Mako or I-N-F-I-N-E-E-R, only.

And plug the card reader into a main usb on the back of your computer.. not on the front
