JayPSU,

If you had a minimum price for the bidding to start, you should have said so in your original post. I read through your past postings - the people of this forum have bent over backwards to help you through your problems with doctors, DME's, pressure relief, etc. Now, the last thing I want to do is start another ego-bashing thread today, but in my opinion, you bumped up your post today with the sole purpose of asking for higher bids, without giving us the courtesy of admitting it.

If you look at the depreciation curves for a device with a 5 year life-span, the first 8 months eats up a lot of an item's original value.

Oh darn! The sale of this machine does not seem what it is all cracked up to be anymore ... and it's begining to sound a little shifty ... hope I don't get stuck having to honor my respectable $102 bid.

The last very low mileage one sold on Yahoo, earlier this week,
for $475.00 + shipping. However, at that price (buy it now)
the HH was included.
+ Aussie heated hose.

The bottom line is I meant no offense to anyone here. To me bidding $100 on a product that was $600 8 months ago is like bidding $100 on an 8 month old tv that was purchased for $600. To me it seemed like low-balling. While I definitely should have put a minimum bid up, I assumed that people wouldn't think they could get such a young machine for so little. It's all semantics, really.

However, to link me selling my machine to an ungratefulnesses for the advice I have been given on this board in the past is beyond ridiculous. Just because I want more than $100 for my machine does not mean I'm ungrateful. It's an absurd argument.

The moral of this thread ... If you want to auction your goods off, you may have better luck using Yahoo ... they do allow one to auction PAP equipment there (done every day).

If you wish to sell here ... name your price and it either sells or it does not.

Don't say it will go to highest bidder then back out of offered bids ... just not fair to bidders.

I never backed out at all. I received some very fair offers. However, my message this morning was to those that I had the impression (though my judgment of their intentions could be very wrong) were trying to low-ball me. I wanted to give people the idea that $100 wasn't going to do it. Yes, I should have given a minimum bid at the beginning, but I didn't think I needed to. Lesson learned. It was not a post of ungratefulness, it was essentially an update. That is all, please don't be offended because that is NOT my intention at all I also wanted to let people know I was close to accepting a bid so that if anyone was still interested they could let me know.

Auctions buyer beware: That said, I got one here is the costs.

Auction Title: Respironics Auto CPAP w/ CFlex, tubing, mask, Case
Auction ID: 110905225
Total Quantity: 1
Starting Price: $249.95
Final Price: $306.00
Ship Price: $24.95
Date Opened: Aug 15 04:34 2006 PDT
Date Closed: Aug 17 17:49 2006 PDT
And it came with a $50 ComfortGel mask

I have put 2000 hours on it, so you can say I have my money covered, It acted up one time, at two weeks, resetting it by removing the power took care of it, like all computers, they have to be burped once and a while.

Buying from YaHoo, you have paypal protection (MAYBE) but as with all things, shady, is out there, it's easy to wrap a lie, in a mis-represation. The hours on my machine weren't as advertised, but not so far out of line, for the price to make a stink over. (Treatment hours had been reset, and had been used as the total hours in the ad) Many will post their ad with a minium price to complete the deal, I don't even consider them, waste of time, that's not a auction, it's a ad, I don't do ad's. If I'm going to buy a 'Pig in the Poke", it's going to have to smell like Pork. Jim

It appears they want to make more money selling AD's. I've wondered why the page indicator was so flacky, no need to fix something you aren't going to stay with. But for now to the end listing will be free. Jim

Yeah, I bet it's just become a liability at this point.
