The "Tank will work with either, the "M"agic will work part time with either, and 1.8i, is supposed to work with "Vista" Jim

Either, as well as the older 1.5 version for your Tank on XP.
If you want to cover both plus Vista, 1.8 is needed.

You have a "tank" according to what your profile indicates but it is a bipap auto - that needs 1.5 or later. M series needs 1.6.

A "tank" auto really just needs 1.4 or maybe even earlier release than that. I have a "tank" and am using 1.4 fine.

1.5 needs XP (yeah I know I am stating behind the times OS's) but 1.5 will not run on ME supposedly for anyone who is that far behind the times that who is using an old OS. Now, for 98 - hmmm - and for 95 ------ even more hmmm. I don't know. I started cpap while on XP and probably stay that way.

Bill Gates can keep his free water release for Vista. Probably the best thing with that name in the whole Misrosoft facility.
